Litigation, Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)
Overview
We represent clients in appellate and trial courts across various states of Nigeria and at the federal level; in arbitrations and other dispute resolution proceedings, including mediation and expert determination; and before administrative tribunals.
We also represent clients at hearings, proceedings and investigations involving government agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC). Our dispute resolution practice is led by a seasoned litigator with over a quarter of a century of experience in commercial litigation and qualifications and experience in banking, finance, auditing, tax and arbitration.Â
Our practice is focused on the realization of our clients’ objectives at the least cost and in minimum time. Within this broad strategy, we identify the risks early and work to eliminate or mitigate them. Our practice is reputed for its strategic insight, intimate understanding of the intricate Nigerian legal system, and devotion to achieving practical outcomes. We have successfully tried cases to judgment across several business segments and subject matters, including mining concessions, land matters, contractual disputes, debt recovery, financial fraud, real estate, tax matters, employment and consumer protection. With offices in Lagos and Abuja, we are well positioned to deliver excellent services to commercial clients.
